Elgin City 2-1 Clyde
For the second time this season Clyde gifted a late goal to Elgin City at Borough Briggs, to give the home side a 2-1 victory.
Danny Lennon made four changes to The Bully Wee side which drew with Annan Athletic on Tuesday, with Jordan Lowdon, Jack Breslin, Barry Cuddihy (pictured) and Smart Osadolor all returning to the starting lineup.
The first half started with Elgin in the ascendancy and they took the lead in the 17th minute when Brian Cameron found Clyde ‘keeper Currie far enough off his line to loop a header over him.
Clyde responded with a powerful Ally Love shot which went over the bar, then in the 36th minute The Bully Wee were given a lifeline when Osadolor was held back in the area and the referee pointed to the spot.
David Goodwillie stepped up and sent Marc Waters the wrong way, only to see the ball hit the inside of the post and rebound off the ‘keeper for a corner.
After the break Clyde upped the tempo and a 55th minute Love free kick was blocked for a corner and this was followed by a Cuddihy free kick on the edge of the box which just went past the post.
At the other end, Callum Home deflected a powerful shot on to the Clyde goal with his head before Clyde pulled themselves back into the game when Goodwillie drove a well placed low shot past Waters.
Currie then made a point blank block from Cameron in 75 minutes, but with the game swinging from end to end and clock ticking, an attempted headed clearance went back across the Clyde goal and Chris Dodd took full advantage to seal the points for Elgin with just three minutes remaining.
