PREVIEW: Keith v Clyde
The Bully Wee’s 2017-18 William Hill Scottish Cup campaign begins tomorrow, with a second round match at Keith.
The Highland League side have a well-earned place in the second round, following a far-flung victory at Gala Fairydean Rovers in the opening round last month.
For Clyde, Jordan Lowdon is suspended and loan signings Andy Munro, Kyle Bradley and JP Morrison will also be unavailable as Jim Chapman explained:-
“It’s disappointing not to have those players available, but it’s up to the parent club and we have to respect that. Partick Thistle have given us permission to include Mark Lamont in the squad and we’re grateful for that.”
Defender Jack Breslin returns following a league suspension.
On the match, Jim continued:-
“This will be a huge game for Keith and our attitude will need to be spot on if we are to get a result. We fully respect every opponent, which is why I travelled up to Keith last week to take in their match.
“It’s a long journey but we are well travelled in the lower leagues anyway, so that’s not an excuse. There are always shocks in any cup competition, but we just have to make sure that it’s not us that are involved in one tomorrow.”
The match will kick-off at 3pm at Kynoch Park. In the event of a draw after 90 minutes, a replay will take place at Broadwood on Saturday 21st October.
