PREVIEW: Clyde v Elgin City

Clyde will host Elgin City at Broadwood tomorrow, as the second quarter of the Ladbrokes League 2 season begins.

The Bully Wee are hoping to bounce back from a poor result at home to Peterhead last week, with The Black and Whites coming into the game on the back of two wins under new boss Gavin Price.

For Clyde, Jack Breslin will miss out due to injury. Matt Flynn, also on the sidelines, is due to have a further assessment on a stomach injury on Monday.

Speaking to the official website today, Jim Chapman said:-

“The players are frustrated and hurting, but the only way to remedy that is to get back out onto the pitch and turn things around. Confidence has been dented and that can create negativity, but the players need to learn to stand up to that.

“I don’t think we’re a million miles away. It has been a window in matches that has really hurt us, but we know that those times haven’t looked good. The important thing now is to keep believing and to stick together, which I have seen this week, and giving people something positive to get behind again.

“We had a good competitive match against Elgin earlier in the season, but that was one of the matches where a poor spell cost us badly. We know that we can compete with any team in the league but we’ve got to improve our mental strength to start getting the right results after 90 minutes.”
