Clyde 2-4 Elgin City

For the second week in a row The Bully Wee conceded four goals at Broadwood, as Elgin City returned north with all three points in the Ladbrokes League 2 clash.

Jordan Lowdon, making his first start in fourteen months, was one of two changes for Clyde, with Andy Munro also returning to the side.

Clyde took a sixth minute lead when Barry Cuddihy picked up the ball on the edge of the area and fired it back into the box. It fell to the feet of David Goodwillie, who beat the visitor’s offside trap, and placed the ball past Marc Waters from close range.

The ball was in the back of the Elgin net again a few minutes later when Smart Osadolor bundled home an overhead kick from Goodwillie, but the goal was disallowed, after referee Lloyd Wilson deemed the forward has used a hand.

Elgin drew level nine minutes before half time when Ally Sutherland evaded a couple of Clyde defenders on the left and crossed for Bruce Anderson, who scored from the centre of the box.

The visitors took the lead just before the hour mark when Chris McLeish rose to meet a cross and headed over the advancing Blair Currie, and the advantage was doubled when Darryl McHardy found himself unmarked at a corner, and he had time to place his shot into the corner of the net.

Osadolor pulled one back for The Bully Wee when he got on the end of a pass from Goodwillie and outpaced McHardy, before calmly slotting past Waters.

Clyde had a chance to equalise late on when a cross fell to Goodwillie, but he couldn’t react quickly enough and the ball was gathered by Waters.

In the final minute the Black and Whites sealed all three points when Jordan Allan took advantage of some slack defending and nipped in to lob the ball over Currie, and into the back of the net.
