New Signing: Kieran Duffie
The club is pleased to announce the addition of Kieran Duffie to the first team squad.
Duffie, 25, is primarily a right back and formerly of Falkirk, where he made over 150 appearances after making his debut as a 17-year-old in 2010. During his time with The Bairns, Kieran was also a regular pick at youth International level, including six Scotland under-21 caps.
However, injury eventually hampered his time at Falkirk and he was released in 2016. Most recently, he had a short spell at East Fife at the end of last season.
Speaking to the official website this evening, Jim Chapman said: “Kieran was a player with excellent potential at Falkirk, until an injury held him back. He took a year out of the game to fix the problem and he’s now completely in the clear.
“Sometimes you get a setback in football, but it speaks volumes of him that he’s worked his way back over a long period of time. It’s a good fit for both parties, as he looks to rebuild his career and Clyde can benefit from his ability and experience.
“We said that we wanted to strengthen the defensive area and with the addition of Kieran, Andy (Munro) and PJ (Morrison) we now have more options and competition.”
As a free agent, Kieran was eligible to be signed outside of the transfer window and a contract to the end of the 2017-18 season was finalised this afternoon.
