PREVIEW: Clyde v Stenhousemuir

Clyde will host Stenhousemuir in Ladbrokes League 2 tomorrow, in what will be the first competitive meeting of the two clubs in over seven years.

Both sides will be keen to add to their early points tally, with The Bully Wee picking up one win so far and The Warriors slightly better off with four points after three matches.

For Clyde, club captain Kevin Nicoll and winger Scott Ferguson are expected to return to the squad following hip and abdominal injuries respectively. However, goalkeeper Blair Currie is suspended and Jordan Lowdon isn’t yet ready to return, after featuring for the under-20s on Tuesday night.

Speaking to the official website this evening, Jim Chapman said:-

“We want to build on the positives we’ve had so far, but also work on the deficiencies. One of the big things is being more clinical and taking more of the chances that we are creating, which in turn will help to take the pressure off the defensive side.

“Stenhousemuir will be aiming to bounce straight back up League 1 and are one of the favourites. They have recruited well and got an excellent result last week. We want to get the points on the board though so we’re ready for what will be a tough one.

“We are still working hard on recruitment and I expect there to be movement on that next week, especially as clubs at the higher end of the scale start to finalise their squads and that then starts to filter down, with a knock-on effect.”
