PREVIEW: Cowdenbeath v Clyde
The Bully Wee travel to Central Park, Fife tomorrow for a potentially crucial match in Ladbrokes League 2.
The Blue Brazil are four points behind Clyde at the bottom of the table, with only five matches left to play following tomorrow’s encounter.
For Clyde, three new faces will be in the squad following their signatures this week – Gourlay, Waddell and Goodwillie – with Kevin Rutkiewicz also eligible to play again after signing a short term contract earlier today.
However, defenders Ross Perry and Ewan McNeil are rated as doubtful to take part.
Scott Linton will also be missing again and it looks likely that he will be out of the rest of the campaign due to a groin problem, as JP McGovern explained:-
“Scott is currently getting advice from different people but he’s been struggling for a while. We had a chat with him and it wasn’t doing him any good to be playing through the injury, so it’s best for him to get the problem sorted out first and foremost.”
On the match, Clyde’s joint interim manager continued:-
“We’ve watched footage of Cowdenbeath’s recent matches and they will probably feel a bit unlucky not to have taken more points. A bit like us, it’s come down to one or two things that have proved crucial for them.
“We didn’t get the result that we wanted when we played them last week, so that forms part of the motivation for tomorrow. Overall, we know what the game means in the camp and we’ll go out with the aim of winning the match, I don’t think we could approach it any other way.
“We’ve worked hard on the shape we want to play and it’s up to the boys to show that they have enough quality and togetherness to get the right result.”
