PREVIEW: Elgin City v Clyde
Clyde’s Ladbrokes League 2 campaign continues tomorrow, with a journey North to take on Elgin City at Borough Briggs.
The Bully Wee have won both of the previous meetings between the teams so far this season, but The Black and Whites are currently ahead in the table and sitting in the play-off zone.
Barry Ferguson spoke to the official website today, at the end of a week which saw the club narrowly exit the Scottish Cup to Ayr United despite two spirited performances against the Championship side.
“It’s obvious what we need to do now,” he said. “It’s really frustrating for everyone that we haven’t had enough consistency in the league, because we saw in the recent cup matches that there’s no doubt that the boys are good enough.
“It’s up to them now to build on what they’ve done over the past few weeks. We’ve got to cement our place in the play-offs and that’s our only focus now.
“Elgin is always a tough game, with a bit of bite in it as well. The only way to get a result there is to work extremely hard – we’ll be concentrating on our own game and going out to get three points.”
For Clyde, Ewan McNeil is suspended, with Jordan McMillan and Ross Perry both rated as doubtful due to injuries. Other players will also be assessed after what was a physically demanding match on Tuesday.
However, Marc McKenzie and Ryan Finnie can return to action after being ineligible for the cup matches.
