PREVIEW: Clyde v Annan Athletic

The calendar year ends with a Hogmanay match in Ladbrokes League 2 tomorrow, with Annan Athletic visiting Cumbernauld for the first time this season.

The fixture also represents the reaching of the halfway point in the campaign, with The Galabankies currently sitting three points behind The Bully Wee in the table.

Barry Ferguson gave an update to the official website this afternoon, confirming that defender Michael Oliver had returned from a loan spell at East Stirlinghire and would be included in the squad tomorrow.

The Clyde manager was keen to make amends for a disappointing final outcome against league leaders Forfar last weekend.

“I thought we played well,” he said. “I was just disappointed with how we lost the match; we should be holding on from the winning position we were in. I was happy with a lot of aspects of our game though.

“I want the boys to take the disappointment from last week into tomorrow’s game and use it positively. Our home form has been good and we need to continue that.

“I watched Annan last week and they got a good result against Berwick, so we know it’s going to be a tough game. They will be motivated by being one place below us, but teams are always motivated to play against Clyde. We need to go out and get the win, it’s as simple as that.”
