Schedule Altered for Break

Barry Ferguson spoke to the official website this evening, for a short update during the International break.

The Clyde manager revealed that the first team schedule had been altered to take advantage of the free weekend and the fortnight between competitive action:-

“We gave most of the players a few days off last week, for a number of reasons. We had a few injury niggles in the squad and given that we are running short of players, it was a good chance to let them clear up. It’s also good to get away and recharge the batteries from time to time.

“We had some of the boys in, but the guys that have played a lot of football already were given time off. It’s good for the mind as well as the legs and getting a break from each other is no bad thing. I know that they kept themselves ticking over on their own though, with gym work or their own activity.

“I decided to take the weekend off for similar reasons, but we still had the full squad back in on Saturday for a training session and that went really well, so we’re happy with how the week has gone.

“Everyone is fully focussed and looking forward to the next part of the season.”

Barry also confirmed that midfielder Dylan Easton underwent surgery last week, following a cruciate knee injury.

“The operation was successful and he came through it ok,” he said. “It’s just the same situation as Jordan now, for the first few months he needs to focus on recovery and looking after himself, before he can start his rehab period.

“We can’t set any dates at the moment and the physio will make a decision on when he’s ready to start any physical work.”
