Mags Retires After 15 Years

Tomorrow sees the end of an era at Broadwood as one of Clyde’s most loyal servants retires from her role with the club.

Mags Gray, who has been kit manager at Broadwood since 2002, will retire after the match with Cowdenbeath. Mags has been a stalwart at Broadwood, sticking by the club as it moved from full-time to part-time football, taking on a position with North Lanarkshire Leisure alongside her role here with The Bully Wee.

Naturally as time goes by priorities change, and Mags feels that this is the right time to let someone else take over the role, as she moves onto a different stage in her life.

“After almost fifteen years at the club I feel it’s time to give myself a well-deserved rest,” she said. “At my age doing two jobs was becoming a bit too much, so sadly I had a hard decision to make. I’m also expecting another two grandchildren at end of year and want to make sure I have as much time to spend with my family and friends as possible.

“I would like to thank all directors and managers, both past and present, for making my time here at Clyde so fantastic. I have made many friends who I have kept in touch with over the years and will continue to keep in touch with in the years ahead. Most of all I’d like thank my husband David and my family for putting up with me during my time here, as it’s not easy trying to have a normal life when you’re so involved with football.”

A full article on Mags will appear in tomorrow’s Clyde View (issue 4) and everyone at Clyde FC would like to thank her for her service to the club and wish her all the best in her retirement.
