PREVIEW: Elgin City v Clyde
The Bully Wee will travel to The Highlands tomorrow for the second leg of the Ladbrokes League 1 play-off semi-final against Elgin City.
Following Tuesday night’s first leg, Clyde will take a two-goal lead to Borough Briggs, but the Black and Whites have an impressive home record and will be hopeful of turning the tie around.
Barry Ferguson expected to have the same squad to choose from when the spoke to the official website ahead of the match. The Clyde boss has had a busy week, returning from completing his UEFA Pro License award in Switzerland just in time to lead last night’s training session.
While at UEFA’s headquarters, Barry was afforded time to watch the first leg in full and conduct his usual post-match analysis. He said:-
“All of the boys knew their jobs and I was pleased with the performance, especially in the first half. I was on the phone to our dugout through one of our kit men during the match, so I’m never far away!
“The tie is far from over though and the job is only half done.
“We are going up there to be positive and look to win the game again – it’s not in our mentality to sit back and try to defend what we have.”
In the event of the aggregate scores being level following tomorrow’s match, extra-time and penalties will be played as required to find a winner. Away goals are not applicable.
