“Unforgettable” Experience for John
Clyde fan John McCone has enjoyed a special week, gaining exclusive access to the club both on and off the pitch.
John was the winning bidder of an auction item at the Sportsman’s Dinner fundraiser in February, with the combined prize of a boardroom invite to a home match at Broadwood and the opportunity to take part in first team training during the following week.
Pictured here (in the black top!) he was welcomed to both Tuesday and Thursday sessions with the squad this week. No concession was given as John – a member of the Bully Wee United supporters’ team – was put through his paces during two full-on evenings of match preparation.
Speaking to the official website this evening, John said: “Not many supporters get the opportunity to train with the team they support and it was definitely an experience this ‘auld guy’ will never forget. Barry, the coaches, the staff and the players were all so welcoming.
“If getting promotion is down to a great set up, hard work and a great team spirit then we’ll have no problem.
“A big thanks also goes to James Turnbull for coming along tonight and taking some photographs of what was an unforgettable experience.”
