Serious Injury for Scott

The club is disappointed to report that Scott Ferguson has suffered a serious and long-term knee injury.

Scott went down awkwardly in the first half of the East Fife match on 30th January and, following further tests this week, it’s been confirmed that he has a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

Clyde manager, Barry Ferguson said: “I went with Scott to visit a specialist today. Unfortunately he needs an operation and he’s looking at a six to nine month recovery period.

“The operation is planned for the start of March. At the moment there’s still a lot of swelling and stiffness around Scott’s knee so we need to wait for that to go down before the procedure can be carried out.

“Scott’s a young player and someone I have a lot of time for, so we’ll be doing everything we can to look after him properly. He’ll be signing a new contract for next season in the next few days – we were discussing an extension before the injury but it’s important that we make that commitment now.”
