Lee Sharp Joins Alloa Athletic
Under-20s coach Lee Sharp has been offered, and accepted, a new coaching role with the first team at Alloa Athletic.
The Championship club recently appointed Jack Ross as manager and the former Clyde favourite has moved to bring Lee into his structure.
Lee joined The Bully Wee in 2009 as a youth coach, while still playing at Junior level. In 2011, he signed a playing contract and joined Jim Duffy’s squad, going on to make over 50 appearances in two seasons. His coaching duties had continued during that time and he was then appointed coach of the under-19s – later to become under-20s – alongside Pat Keogh.
Pat will continue to lead the youngsters in their SPFL Development League West campaign.
Speaking this evening, Lee said: “I would like to thank everyone that has been involved with the club over the last seven years, through my time both playing and coaching. It has been a real pleasure to be involved at a club like Clyde.
“There has been no end of help and support through the years if and when it was needed, especially from the board. The supporters were also great and the same goes for the under-20s players and its coaches, Pat and Chris Wilson.”
Club Chairman, John Alexander added: “Lee has been a model professional in both his playing and coaching roles over the last seven years at Broadwood, and the opportunity to step up to a Championship club is one that is too good to turn down. We wish him every success with Alloa.”
