PREVIEW: Clyde v East Fife

The Ladbrokes League 2 season continues tomorrow, with East Fife set to visit Broadwood.

The Fifers suffered a disappointing home defeat to Queen’s Park on Tuesday night, but sit only three points behind Clyde in what continues to be a very tight league table.

Other than long-term absentee Brian McQueen, Barry Ferguson will have a full squad to choose from.

The Clyde manager spoke to the official website ahead of the match, which will end a three-week break from action for The Bully Wee:-

“In an ideal world I’d love to have had games to play, but we can’t control the fixture list or the weather and we won’t use it as an excuse, that’s for sure. The boys have trained well and trained hard during the break, so we’ll be as best prepared as possible.

“For the first time in a while, other than Brian we have a fully fit squad. There’s a bit of competition for places and I’ve got some tough decisions to make. Some of the boys will be disappointed on Saturday but I want them to keep working hard and push for a place, because no-one is guaranteed to be included.

“East Fife are a good team with some really good players in their squad. They’ve had a couple of disappointing results recently but I don’t read anything into that. From knowing Gary Naysmith very well as an old team-mate, there’s no doubt that his team will be a really tough test on Saturday.”
