Formartine United 2-0 Clyde
Clyde’s William Hill Scottish Cup campaign came to an abrupt halt in Aberdeenshire this afternoon, as Formartine United moved onto the Third Round thanks to a 2-0 win at North Lodge Park.
Barry Ferguson made two changes to the team following the defeat to Stirling Albion last week, with centre half Michael Bolochoweckyj returning to replace Marvin Andrews and Archie Campbell coming in for David Gormley in attack.
The home side took the lead after 33 minutes, when a cross from the left eluded Scott Linton and Graeme Rodger headed the ball into the net.
Scott Ferguson had Clyde’s best chance of the first half, but his shot from 20 yards went over the bar.
After the break, The Bully Wee tried to put pressure on the Formartine goal but struggled to make any impact in the final third of the pitch.
In the final minute, as Clyde committed men forward, Formartine secured their place in the next round when substitute Neil Gauld gathered the ball from a throw in and scored from just inside the box.
