Elgin City 1-1 Clyde

The Bully Wee earned an important point in the Highlands today, with a debut goal by Marvin Andrews cancelling out an early opener for the home side at Borough Briggs.

Barry Ferguson made three changes to the team following last week’s draw with Berwick, with Mark McLaughlin, Andrews and Scott Ferguson replacing Michael Bolochoweckyj, David Marsh and Archie Campbell.

Elgin took the lead after 13 minutes through a Daryl McHardy header from a Daniel Moore corner, but following that it was Clyde that were the stronger team for the majority of the first half.

Ferguson had the ball in the net for The Bully Wee, but the referee disallowed the goal for a possible infringment. However, the equaliser did come with 28 minutes on the clock as Andrews was able to scramble the ball into the net after his original header was blocked.

Sean Higgins had a chance to give Clyde the lead before the break, but the forward then took a heavy knock and had to be replaced by David Marsh.

The Black and Whites probably had the better of the second half overall, but both ‘keepers were forced into action late in the game to ensure a final score of 1-1.
