Durie Making Good Progress

Scott Durie is nearing a return to training with the first team following a hernia operation last month.

The full back is currently working on his own training regime as part of his rehabilitation and could take part with the rest of the squad as early as next week.

Barry Ferguson said: “Scott is making good progress. The operation went well and he’s been back to see the surgeon, who is delighted with how things are going.

“He’s now got to work hard to get to full fitness as it’s important that he is at the same level as the rest of the boys before he goes into the full training sessions. He’s really got to go through his own pre-season at the moment.

“It’ll be great to have him back available again, he played in every match last season and did an excellent job for the team. First and foremost he’ll add more competition for places, which is always important.”
