New Signing: Sean Higgins

The club is delighted to announce that experienced forward Sean Higgins has agreed to sign for The Bully Wee.

Higgins, 30, will join Clyde from Cowdenbeath on a one-year deal.

Sean’s senior career started at Ross County, where he made his debut just before his 18th birthday. He went on to make over 200 appearances for The Staggies, scoring 56 goals.

After seven years in Dingwall, Sean then had a two-year spell with Dundee and again featured in the first team regularly during that time. Seasons at St.Johnstone, Falkirk and Stenhousemuir followed, before he joined Cowdenbeath last summer as The Blue Brazil prepared for a Championship campaign.

During the 2014-15 season, Sean played in 37 matches for Cowdenbeath across all competitions, scoring seven goals.

Clyde boss Barry Ferguson was delighted with the acquisition when he spoke to the official website this evening: “I’m looking for players with a winning mentality, that’s very important to me, and Sean certainly fits that mould. He’s obviously played at a higher level during his career, so there’s no doubt he also brings experience as well as ability.

“We had to work hard to get him, ahead of clubs in higher divisions, but we got there in the end and I’m delighted.”

The current squad list for 2015-16 is; Michael Bolochoweckyj, Archie Campbell, Scott Durie, Scott Ferguson, Sean Higgins, Scott Linton, Conor Lynass, David Marsh, Mark McLaughlin, Scott McLaughlin, Mark McMillan, Brian McQueen, Chris Mitchell, Hugh Murray, Billy Robb, Mark Roberts and Chris Smith.
