McLaughlin Returns to Clyde
The club is pleased to announce that Mark McLaughlin has returned to Clyde for a second spell, after the defender signed an 18-month contract earlier today.
The 39-year-old was released from his contract with Dumbarton yesterday and completed a switch to The Bully Wee this afternoon.
‘Marko’ first joined the club in 1999 from Arthurlie, as he made his first step into senior football at the relatively late age of 23. However, he soon impressed supporters with his performances as an attacking full-back and he went on to play a key role in Clyde’s League One title victory in that same season.
Mark continued to be a first team regular as The Bully Wee then entered a long period competing at Championship level, and his performance level increased once more after making a positional switch to centre half.
In 2004, after making over 100 competitive appearances for Clyde, Mark moved to Hamilton Accies. An impressive eight-year stint at New Douglas Park followed, which included over 200 matches for The Accies.
Recent shorter spells with Greenock Morton and Dumbarton have preceded Mark’s return to Broadwood.
