Players Moving On

Clyde manager Barry Ferguson has made further changes to the first team squad, with three players leaving Broadwood this week.

Aidan McIlduff has completed the agreed three-month loan spell and returns to Celtic, meanwhile Euan Murray and Gordon Young have both been released from their contracts. Ferguson told the official website:-

“Euan and Gordon have been released and Aidan has had to go back to Celtic. Two or three others in the squad have been made available for loan moves – I have spoken to them and they all know where they stand.”

The club wishes Euan, Gordon and Aidan all the best in their future careers.

In terms of players coming to The Bully Wee, Barry reiterated that signings will be made in January. He continued:-

“The deals are now totally done for four players join us on January 1st, with a deal for a fifth player all but done.

“We can’t mention names just now, but they are guys that have been about and have a bit of know-how. They will add experience and they know how to ‘win dirty’ which is something that I think we need.

“We’re not far away from having a very good team and I think these players will make a big difference.”

The Clyde boss concluded by outlining his plans for the festive week, ahead of Saturday’s trip to Annan Athletic:-

“The boys will train tonight as normal and again on Friday. We can’t expect the players to go from training on Tuesday to playing on Saturday, so we’ve moved the Thursday training session to Boxing Day. That will let them sweat out their Christmas dinners before the game!”
