McQueen Enjoys Advanced Role
Brian McQueen spoke to the media following yesterday’s 3-1 win over East Fife at Broadwood.
The big defender was used in a new role in the Clyde attack, a decision which proved to be beneficial as Brian capped an excellent performance with a goal and an assist.
“I felt like I had nothing to lose so I went out and enjoyed it,” he said. “I scored a couple last season but it’s been a while and it was good to get a goal and a win.”
The 23-year-old revealed that the surprise move to change his position had been planned by Barry Ferguson and Bob Malcolm throughout the week:-
“Bob spoke to me on Monday about playing up front – I’ve played there a few times when I was younger. I played against David Marsh at training on Tuesday and managed to bully him!
“The manager asked me to play up front today and I was happy to. I’m not sure if I will play there again but I don’t mind where I play as long as I can do well for the team.”
Brian concluded by looking ahead to the festive period:-
“We’d been on a bad run so it was important to get three points and hopefully we can take that onto Annan next week and start a run of results.”
