John Returns to the Board

John Taylor has been co-opted onto the club’s Board of Directors and will seek to be formally voted on by owners at the forthcoming AGM on December 8th.

John previously served as a Clyde director and club secretary for 28 years before stepping down to take on a full-time position at Dundee United earlier this year. However, following a further change in his circumstances, he has now been invited to take on official duties with The Bully Wee again.

Clyde chairman, John Alexander said: “We are delighted to welcome John back onto the Board. Everyone knows that he is a Clyde man through and through and he is also hugely experienced within the club and Scottish Football in general.

“After discussions with John we have agreed that his skills will be utilised in a new role which will be wide ranging, as befits his experience, but he will have media and communication as a specific responsibility.

“I’m sure that the club’s owners will have no hesitation in welcoming John back to the Board at the AGM.”

John Taylor added:-

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Dundee United, and gained invaluable experience. It’s a great club, but I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to return to Clyde and I was happy to take on this new role when it was discussed with the Board.

“Gordon Thomson has grown visibly in his new role as club secretary, acquiring a wealth of experience in such a short time in post and I will continue to be available to support him going forward.”
