Clyde 1-1 Annan Athletic
This afternoon’s League Two match finished with the scores level, following a closely fought match at Broadwood.
Barry Ferguson opted to take to the field for the first time since being appointed as Clyde’s player-manager, with Scott McManus also returning to the side following injury.
Throughout the contest, clear-cut chances were at a premium but Euan Smith had a chance when he met Andy Gibson’s cross but his header went straight to Alex Mitchell.
Shortly before half-time though, Smith did get his first Clyde goal when he finished off a fine team move. Good work by Gibson and Scott Durie (pictured) on the right wing led to Scott Ferguson cutting the ball back and Smith found the roof of the net from close range.
David Marsh was replaced by Brian McQueen at the break and, just after the restart, Clyde boss Ferguson was forced off due to injury.
After 52 minutes, McQueen conceded a penalty when he got caught on the wrong side of Derek Carcary and Peter Weatherson made no mistake from the spot.
Of the remaining play, the best chance to win the match fell to Scott McManus when Smith’s knock-down found him in front of goal, but he couldn’t find the target with the home crowd already on their feet.
