Ferguson Signs New Contract
The club is delighted to announce that Scott Ferguson has signed a new two-year contract.
The deal, finalised earlier this evening, will keep the winger with The Bully Wee until at least 2016.
Scott, 19, made his Clyde debut early in the 2013-14 season and went on to play a significant role in the campaign, with 41 appearances, 10 goals and 9 assists.
A delighted Barry Ferguson said: “I think Scott knows how important his development is over the next couple of years and I’m really happy that he sees that as being with me at Clyde.
“He’s got a lot of potential but he still has to fulfil it and we can make him a better player. He knows that and he’s determined to get there. I can see the level that he can reach in the future. He knows that he has still got things to learn and it’s good for someone his age to realise that.
“We’re delighted as a club to keep him here and I’m personally delighted; I get excited when I see him on the ball and he can make things happen.”
Scott also spoke exclusively to the official website after putting pen to paper:-
“I’m buzzing to have signed the new contract and I can’t wait for the season to start.
“I’m pleased to stay at Clyde where I can play in the first team and learn more about the game. I’d rather do that than sit on the bench at another club.
“The new manager has made a huge difference and I think he’s going to help us a lot this season. For me personally, I think the way he wants to play will suit me. He’s keen for us to attack teams and go out to win matches. I’m looking forward to working with him.”
