Player Investment Scheme 2014-15

18 months after the launch of the club’s Player Investment Scheme, club director and architect of the model, Bobby Gracey spoke to the official website about its future.

He said, “Since the scheme began, we have secured the signature of some seven players for the first team squad.

“It is all the more pleasing to know that the club is going into next season’s league campaign with players of the quality of Brian McQueen, Scott Ferguson, John Sweeney, Jamie Barclay and Stuart McColm.”

The model provides benefits to the club on multiple fronts, including:

  • Providing funding to secure our greatest footballing assets on two-year contracts
  • Providing the club with security and negotiation strength in relation to our assets
  • Encouraging interest and financial donations from non-traditional club sources
  • Providing a share of the club’s/player’s success with the donator
  • Providing the first team manager with a model that offers continuity to the squad of players at his disposal
  • Making Clyde FC more attractive to future generations of young footballers

Bobby continued, “As we are approaching the end of this season, the investment model and brochure has been revamped for 2014-15.

“I would ask all fans and owners of the club to share the model and brochure with anyone you feel would be interested in supporting the club in this way. The overall donation does not need to paid in a single payment and can be equally spread over 12 months.

“I would also encourage groups to form consortiums, to enable as many people as possible to be part of the model and to witness their own selected player in the famous red, white & black.

“Finally, I would like to thank everyone who has supported the investment model, as it has really made a huge difference to the club.”
