Stef Aims for Double Figures
Stefan McCluskey’s recent good form continued against Stirling Albion yesterday, as he capped another fine performance with the only goal of the game.
Stef spoke to the media after the match and stressed how important the victory was:-
“It was a big result for securing a play-off spot and two or three more wins should see us finish in the top four.
“I thought we would need a second goal and we ended up hanging on, but the defence has worked wonders in recent weeks and they kept strong again. If you have a steady ‘keeper and a good back four you can win any game.”
His composed 44th minute goal made him the club’s top scorer with nine goals and he revealed that the strike also took him closer to a personal target:-
“I missed a sitter before my goal when I tried to cross the ball instead of shooting, but thankfully I got another chance and I put it away. I’ve been aiming to get over 10 goals for the season and I’ll be happy if I can get that.”
Clyde manager, Jim Duffy had earlier praised Stef for playing despite not being fully fit. The striker explained:-
“I wasn’t sure if I would be able to play as I’ve been struggling with a bad back. I’ve got a scan next week to see what the problem is.”
