PREVIEW: Clyde v Elgin City
A busy week for Clyde will conclude with the visit of Elgin City to Broadwood tomorrow, for another important League Two match.
Neither side has enjoyed great form in recent weeks. However, Elgin will be hoping to build on a fine win over Berwick in their last away trip, with The Bully Wee looking for a first win in four matches.
For Clyde, Ryan MacBeth, Nik Rajovic and Kevin Watt remain out and there will be a late test for at least one other player. Stuart McColm will return after missing Tuesday night’s match against Albion Rovers.
Jim Duffy spoke exclusively to www.clydefc.co.uk this afternoon and he was in little doubt over the task ahead:-
“We have shown great commitment and attitude to be in the position we are at present, but we know that counts for nothing at this stage of the season. What we have done is given ourselves a platform and with ten games to go we are going into a critical period.
“Eight teams are involved in the chase for promotion and, in my opinion, there is no significant difference within that group. What makes the difference on the day is belief and confidence and supporters can also play their part by adding to the strength of the team with backing for the players. We have one of the bigger supports in the league – home and away – and that offers us a real opportunity to gain an advantage that can assist the jobs of the players.
“As we move into this vital time with teams so evenly matched, in every game we will face times where things are not going for us and where the players need to roll up their sleeves and graft for every point. We are determined to do just that and give the supporters what they want.”
