Hallside Primary Return

Supporters may notice that it’s a little noisier than usual at Broadwood on Saturday, as the club welcomes the return of Hallside Primary from Halfway, Cambuslang.

Hallside are providing two mascots for the game and many of the other visiting children will enjoy activities on the pitch at half-time. The participants all earned their place via a penalty shoot-out, so expectations are high for an exciting event!

The school’s football teams are currently a force to be reckoned with in Lanarkshire. The ‘Blue Team’ won their group in the qualifiers for the Scottish Schools’ FA Cup, without conceding a goal. They now go on to the regional finals at Queen of the South’s Palmerston Park on 19th of March. The ‘Red Team’ were also a creditable third.

Deputy head teacher, Mr Bamford is considered to be a lucky mascot for The Bully Wee. Having attended a number of games over the last two seasons, he’s yet to see Clyde drop a point. ‘Mr B’ has also been central to the development of the club’s schools programme, which now sees Clyde providing coaching input to 10 schools.

Head teacher, Miss Russell is also becoming a bit of a regular and she even volunteered to help out as an escort when Cathkin Primary visited in November.

The club’s thanks go to Mr Bamford, Miss Russell and everyone from Hallside for their continued support of The Bully Wee.
