Peterhead 2-0 Clyde
The Blue Toon took another big step towards promotion this afternoon, with a League Two victory over Clyde at a windy Balmoor Stadium.
Jim Duffy handed a debut to Ross McKinnon in a midfield position, with Pat Scullion also returning to the team.
However, the match got off to the worst possible start for The Bully Wee, as Andy Rodgers latched onto a through pass and opened the scoring after just 3 minutes.
Jamie Barclay had to react quickly to prevent the same man scoring again, as Clyde struggled to make any impression on the home goal before the half-time break.
During the second half, Stefan McCluskey and Kevin Watt were introduced to increase Clyde’s attacking options and the former almost scored, but his shot was well saved by Graeme Smith.
With only a few minutes left on the clock, a second Peterhead goal by Fraser McLaren confirmed a home victory and stretched Clyde’s run without a win at Balmoor Stadium to 8 matches.
