Lottery Jackpot Hits £20,000

For the first time in its history, the Clyde FC Lottery has reached the maximum jackpot fund of £20,000.

The fantastic total is significantly higher than the current biggest amount paid to a winner – £13,250 to a Rutherglen syndicate in June 2010.

Tonight’s draw for £19,750 produced no jackpot winner, hence the new increased total, but 14 players claimed a share of the weekly £250 second prize.

As defined in the lottery’s license, the jackpot will now remain at £20,000 for each weekly draw until it is won, with the second prize increasing to £500 for each week that the top prize remains unclaimed after the 26th February.

Clyde director, Gordon Nisbet said: “The lottery team never imagined that we would see the jackpot reach its maximum amount, especially with the increased plays via both the traditional ticket method and our online play option as the jackpot steadily climbed.

“On behalf of the Lottery team, may I take this opportunity to once again convey thanks to all agents, ticket outlets and of course to the loyal participants for their continued support.

“With two Clyde fixtures prior to the next draw on the 26th, I suspect there may be a somewhat high demand on ticket sales. I wish good luck to all players.”
