Play With Clyde Legends

The club is pleased to confirm plans for an exciting new fundraising event.

An end of season challenge match, involving supporters and some very well known former Bully Wee players, has been organised to take place inside Broadwood Stadium.

Clyde director Bobby Gracey said: “There has been great interest from a number of fans to organise an end of season match involving fans and ex-players, as part of our recent Player Development Fund.

“The intention is to let fans not only play at Broadwood under matchday conditions, but also to enjoy the experience of playing with some of the best Clyde stars of the past 20 years.”

There will be at least 15 former Clyde players participating, including; Pat Keogh, Paul Ronald, Andy McLay, Paul Hay, Keith Knox, Lee Sharp, Jack Ross, Richie McCusker and Pat Nevin.

The teams will also be managed by two of the club’s current first team players, with club captain John Sweeney already confirmed as one of the bosses.

Bobby continued, “It will certainly be a memorable occasion for everyone involved and the teams will be mixed up so that we have an even, and hopefully entertaining, match.

“In order for the event to proceed, we need at least 15 Clyde fans to participate. All of the money raised will go directly to the player fund. The club will also be looking for a local business to sponsor the event.”

The cost to participate in this unique opportunity will be £100, or £150 to include a signed and framed Clyde FC shirt to mark the occasion.

Every player will be guaranteed at least 45 minutes playing time, depending on fitness levels! Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

A final date for the event will be announced once all of the places have been allocated.

If you would like to be involved, please contact Bobby at bobby.gracey@clydefc.co.uk – please provide a preferred playing position. Payment can be made via cheque to the Clyde FC Office or via the online donate page.
