Winter 5-a-side Tournament

Commercial director Gary Ballantyne is seeking interest from all Clyde supporters – young, old and probably really auld(!) – to participate in the club’s first ever 5-a-side tournament.

The event will be staged at Powerleague, Bothwell Road, Hamilton on Sunday 17th November. Following arrival and registration at 11.30am, the first kick-offs will be at 12pm through to close of play at around 3pm.

The format is a 16-team competition, with four sections of four teams playing in a group section. The top two teams in each section will progress to a direct knockout quarter-final, semi-final and final to become champions of the Clyde FC Winter Trophy. The bottom two teams from each section will contest the Consolation Cup under the same format. 

Presentations and a buffet (supplied by Spice Restaurant, Hamilton) will follow after the football, within the function suite.

Gary said, “There will be a few familiar Clyde faces from the past and present in attendance to ensure that the day will be memorable, with the opportunity to wax lyrically on how brilliant or extremely unfortunate you were at the footie!

“Our intention is to also host another competition in Spring 2014, at a Glasgow venue.”

The cost for each individual team is £60 and further updates will be released prior to the event, including the all important draw.
