Elgin City 1-0 Clyde
A single goal earned Elgin maximum points today, in a Scottish league Two match played in blustery conditions at Borough Briggs.
Jim Duffy started with the same team that defeated Queen’s Park last, with Gavin Brown’s addition to the bench being the only change made to the squad.
It was The Bully Wee that enjoyed the best of the first half and dominated play, without testing home ‘keeper Raymond Jellema too often. Scott Ferguson did force him into a good stop however, with a shot from the edge of the box.
After the half-time break, the hosts started to take control of proceedings but also struggled to create clear-cut chances on goal. Crucially though, they opened the scoring on the hour mark when Dennis Wyness met a cross from the left and saw his shot go under Barclay and into the net.
Clyde forced two chances to equalise before the final whistle; Michael Daly missed with a header and Keiran McGachie also missed the target after the ball broke to him inside the penalty area.
