Fundraising Golf Day
With lots of preparations ongoing on the training ground ahead of the new season, the website caught up with club Director Bobby Gracey to hear about some of the activities off the park:-
“I’m delighted to announce that the club will be holding a fundraising golf day on Friday 6th September at Westerwood Hotel & Country Club, Cumbernauld.
“The focus for this event is simple; it’s all about raising funds to support our player budget for the season ahead. The day will kick-off at around 11am, with bacon rolls and coffee on arrival. We’ll then have 18 holes of championship golf (shotgun, Texas Scramble format) on a course designed by Seve Ballesteros. To conclude, there will be high tea followed by a prize giving and raffle/auction.
“In addition, the hotel will be showing the Scotland v Belgium International match and it is believed that the Belgium team are staying at the hotel which can only add to the occasion. Discounted accommodation will also be made available by Westerwood if required.
“We have run many golf days in the past and they have always been a great success. I hope as many Clyde fans as possible can come along to support the club at this event and they will get to play alongside some Clyde players of the past and present.”
Pat Keogh, Paul Ronald and John McAulay are some examples of the ex-players already confirmed to attend, with more to be announced over the summer. Jim Duffy and members of the current squad will also be teeing off.
“It will be an ideal occasion for local businesses to join the Clyde family and entertain their customers or family members,” Bobby continued.
“The cost to enter a team at this exclusive event is £400, with the choice to play as a 4-man team or 3-man + a Clyde legend. Overall event sponsorship is available at £500 and individual holes can also be sponsored for the reasonable sum of £100.”
