Peterhead 3-0 Clyde

Clyde’s final away match of the 2012-13 IRN-BRU Third Division season ended in defeat this afternoon, as Peterhead recorded a three-goal win ahead of their play-off involvement.

With a long injury list to contend with, Jim Duffy added two of the club’s under-19 squad to the starting line-up; Stephen Bronsky in defence and Paul Orrick on the left wing.

The match was effectively won by The Blue Toon with a goal on either side of half-time, both by Andy Rodgers.

His first came at the end of a fairly quiet first half, as he took advantage of some slack defending. A mistake by Kieran Macdonald just after the break then allowed Rodgers to get his second goal and make things comfortable for the home side.

Midway through the second half, referee Matt Northcroft ruled that Bronksy had denied a goalscoring opportunity in The Bully Wee’s penalty box, resulting in a red card for the youngster. Rory McAllister converted from the spot to make it 3-0 and there was little opportunity for Clyde to get back into the game.
