Stirling Albion 2-0 Clyde

Two first half goals earned Stirling a home victory this afternoon, as The Bully Wee sank to the bottom of the IRN-BRU Third Division following a third consecutive defeat.

Jim Duffy made four chances to the team that faced East Stirling during the week, with Paul Hay (pictured), Kevin Nicoll and Stuart McColm all returning. There was also a first start for the club for Kieran Macdonald, at left-back.

The game started in the worst possible fashion for Clyde as Kieran McAnespie fired the Binos in front after just five minutes. Ex-Bully Wee striker Jordan White set the midfielder through on goal and, left unchallenged, McAnespie fired home.

Stirling doubled their lead on 32 minutes when a White shot was parried by Clyde ‘keeper Jamie Barclay and Mark Ferry swept the ball into the net.

Clear cut chances in the match were few and far between and the loss of two goals was always going to be critical and unfortunately that is how it proved to be. The Bully Wee worked hard but failed to pierce a well organised Albion defence and in the end Stirling ran out comfortable winners which saw them leapfrog Clyde in the league.
