PREVIEW: Queen’s Park v Clyde
The Bully Wee’s first outing of 2013 will take place at the National Stadium on Wednesday, as Queen’s Park host an IRN-BRU Third Division match.
The squad trained today ahead of tomorrow’s New Year’s Day holiday, although Gavin Brown (hamstring) and Iain Gray (illness) sat out and will miss the Hampden encounter. However, everyone else is expected to be available for selection.
Incredibly, The Spiders have won the last eight meetings of the sides and Jim Duffy was aware that it would be a difficult task to break that cycle this week:-
“Queen’s are a terrific side and it took Rangers until injury time to beat them. They are a very good passing team with width and pace.
“We’re not underestimating the challenge but we can go with a bit more confidence after the Berwick victory. We’re looking to turn around a bad sequence of results against them and we’ll need some character to do that.”
