PREVIEW: Clyde v Nairn County

Clyde host Nairn County at Broadwood tomorrow, in the Second Round of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

It’s the first time that the two clubs have met in a competitive match and the visitors currently lead the Highland League, setting the scene for an interesting afternoon of cup football.

Jim Duffy reported to the official website this morning that he has no fresh injury concerns after last week’s defeat at East Stirling. However, Pat Scullion, Ryan MacBeth, Sean Fitzharris and Lee Sharp are all included in the squad and could feature in the match.

Nairn will bring a few familiar faces to Cumbernauld. Their manager, Les Fridge, is a former Clyde goalkeeper and two men in his squad have featured against The Bully Wee several times in the past; former St. Mirren striker Junior Mendes and ex-Ross County man Conor Gethins.

In the event of the match ending in a draw, a replay will take place at Nairn’s Station Park on Saturday 6th October.
