PREVIEW: Peterhead v Clyde

The Bully Wee make the long journey North today to face Peterhead. At the start of the season, the Blue Toon were among the favourites for promotion but a poor start appeared to rule them out of an instant return to the Second Division.

However, since Christmas an upturn of form has brought them back into the fringes of the play-off places and they go into today’s match at Balmoor Park with three consecutive victories that could yet see them complete a remarkable come back.

Bully Wee boss Jim Duffy commented, “As I’ve previously said, the front two of Rory McAllister and Martin Bavidge are a striking partnership which rates among the best in the lower leagues and between them this season they have scored over 30 goals.

“Another double last week is further proof we have to keep an eye on Rory McAllister as he is grabbing a lot of goals at the moment. The games between us have been tight this season but undoubtedly Peterhead will come out at us looking for the win to keep them in the hunt for a play-off place.”

However, The Bully Wee also go into this match with confidence after back-to-back victories and the injuries that have plagued the season are beginning to clear with Irvine, Sloss and MacDonald back in contention.

Doubts do remain over influential club captain Paul Hay and on-loan Dumbarton striker Kieran Brannan.
