Clyde 0-2 Elgin City
Clyde slipped to ninth place in the IRN-BRU Third Division today, following a comfortable victory for Elgin City at Broadwood.
Ryan Kane and Stephen McDonald returned to the Bully Wee starting line-up, with Pat Scullion and Michael Oliver dropping to the bench. Gavin Brown returned from injury to take a substitute slot.
The first half of the match was a closely contested affair, with The Bully Wee first to come close to an opening goal. Lee Sharp’s cross was met by Kane, but his glancing header came back out off the inside of the post.
At the other end, Nick Feely was forced into a fine save when Jason Crooks unleashed a powerful volley from the edge of the box.
After the half-time break, the visitors enjoyed a bigger share of possession and took control of the game.
Crooks opened the scoring when he beat the offside trap to race through on goal and slip the ball past the advancing Feely.
Clyde had little to offer in response and a second goal for City eliminated any doubt about the final result. A corner from the left was met first time by Brian Cameron and his low shot took a deflection off Lee Sharp on its way into the back of the net.
