JC Set to Move On
JC Hutchison looks set to leave Clyde in the near future. The goalkeeper, 26, signed for the club from Camelon in 2010 and has featured in 21 matches for The Bully Wee since then.
Speaking after last night’s match against Alloa, Clyde manager Jim Duffy told the official website that JC had confirmed his intentions to him:-
“Felip (Mentel) is our number 1 choice at the moment and JC indicated that he wanted to be playing regular first team football. He said he was unhappy and that he wanted to move on. He’s perfectly entitled to do that and I have no problems with it.
“Assuming all the paperwork is completed, he will then be free to move on and we wish him well.”
Under-19 stopper Barry McCue was on the bench last night and Jim gave his thoughts on the goalkeeping position going forward, with Mentel’s loan deal currently due to expire at the end of the year:-
“We’ll be using young Barry as back-up and we’ll assess things when we find out more on the Felip situation. We have spoken to Dundee United about extending the move and we’re waiting on them getting back to us at the moment.”
