PREVIEW: Alloa v Clyde

Clyde boss Jim Duffy spoke to the official website on the eve of the Bully Wee’s clash with Alloa Athletic…

“The boys are buoyant and we want to maintain the consistency and, most importantly, the energy and high tempo they have displayed to date, in order to maintain this encouraging start.”

Jim however was not underestimating the task ahead of the squad for tomorrow’s journey to face the Wasps…

“It will be a tough match. Alloa have aspirations for promotion and have a lot of good players. We spoke to Ryan Harding and Kevin Cawley ourselves prior to the season. As well as them they’ve got guys like Armand One and Ryan McCord to name just two more so it will be difficult. The artificial pitch also gives them a slight advantage but no matter the surface Alloa are a very good side.”

Jim continued, “As I’ve said before we just have to keep working, we have had three good games to date and we just want to keep it going. The whole season is a learning curve for us and tomorrow is another opportunity to learn.

“Squad wise, Pat Scullion is a doubt for tomorrow due to a knee injury but on the positive side it was encouraging to see Ryan Kane and Paul McMullan continue their return to full fitness on Monday. Both featured in a friendly against Airdrie United, as did Declan Gallagher who is added to the squad for tomorrow.”
