Work In Progress
The Bully Wee continued their preparations for the 2011-12 season today, with a closed door match against Whitehill Welfare at the K complex in East Kilbride.
Whitehill took a deserved lead in the first half after also having a penalty saved. Ironically, although Clyde improved after the interval they were unable to capitalise on the chances they created and paid the penalty as the East of Scotland Premier League side were more clinical in front of goal and ran out comfortable 3-0 winners in the end.
Commenting after the game, Bully Wee boss Jim Duffy was happy with the workout despite the result: “You obviously want to win every game you play but at this stage it is about spending time with the players, working with them and learning more about them in real match situations. This afternoon was important in doing just that.”
Jim also confirmed that further signings are set to be announced: “I’ve verbally agreed deals with three more players and I’m also hoping to conclude a loan deal with an SPL club in the early part of next week.
“We’ll announce these signatures on the website when the deals are formally completed.”
