Clyde FC is pleased to confirm the appointment of Jim Duffy as first team manager on a permanent basis. Chic Charnley will also continue in his role as assistant manager.
Jim joined the Bully Wee in February, taking up the role initially on a temporary basis until the end of the season. However both club and Jim were keen for the arrangement to continue on a longer term basis.
Club chairman, John Alexander spoke on behalf of the board: “It is critical that the club builds and progresses on and off the park. We are aiming for next year to be our baseline from which we will grow once more but it will be in small steps within our means. Jim shares our belief in how the club should be rebuilt and we are delighted to continue to work with him.”
On confirmation of his appointment Jim commented, “I was delighted to accept the offer to become Clyde manager and continue my role here. Since I’ve arrived the players’ commitment has been first class and we’ve moved forward as a result.
“Chic and I want to build on that and we are both looking forward to challenges ahead. The club has been stagnating for a few years and we want to address that and build it up again. It might not be as quick as some supporters would like – patience will be needed – but it will be done effectively and we will give the job 100%.”
Jim spoke with www.clydefc.co.uk tonight and further comment will follow later on Friday.
