Broadwood Success For Reserves
Clyde enjoyed an excellent 5-1 victory over Cowdenbeath in the Reserve League Cup at a rain-soaked Broadwood this evening.
With the international break beckoning, the match gave Clyde an ideal opportunity to field a number of first team players alongside those on the fringes of the squad and the players took full advantage of the opportunity with a clinical display.
John Stewart missed out due to work commitments while Stuart Mills, Adam Strachan and Brian Dingwall were ruled out with a virus. Encouragingly, Hadyn Cochrane eased back to action and got 60 minutes of competitive action under his belt.
The Bully Wee’s goals were scored by Girvan, Paterson, Sawyers (2) and youngster Daniel Fitzpatrick.
Clyde actually finished the game with ten men after injury forced Iain Gray to leave the action, but gladly both his injury and the knock received earlier by Ally Park are not considered to be serious.
CLYDE: Hutchison, Gray, McGowan, Girvan, McMillan, Cochrane (Lithgow), McKinnon, Park (Fitzpatrick), Stevenson, Sawyers, Paterson (Rankin).
