East Stirling 0-0 Clyde

The Bully Wee picked up a point at a cramped Ochilview this afternoon, after a tight match that yielded few chances.

New signing Ricky Waddell (right) was added to the starting line-up and Willie Sawyers replaced the suspended Marc McCusker in attack.

A disappointing first half resulted in little action for either goalkeeper. Clyde survived an early scare when a snap shot drifted just past JC Hutchison’s post, but John Sweeney subsequently had the best chance of the opening period. The midfielder found himself in space at the back post but couldn’t keep his shot down.

Clyde’s second half performance was probably good enough to justify taking the three points, but chances were still at a premium and were not taken when they came along. Bryan Dingwall couldn’t quite reach an Adam Strachan cross before Kevin Finlayson had two opportunities to open the scoring.

His first effort was blocked as he bore down on goal, with the second just evading him as he couldn’t connect with a deep cross to the far post.

The match finished with the Bully Wee on top, but the Shire held on for a share of the points.
