Sponsored Walk Rescheduled

As reported earlier in the summer, Clyde fans Gordon Sydney and Stuart Robertson are planning another sponsored walk to raise funds for the Bully Wee.

“Syd” and Stuarty have spearheaded similar events in the past and they have always proved to be hugely successful.

Gordon contacted www.clydefc.co.uk to alert supporters to some changes that have been made to the plans since the last announcement:-

“We have had to reschedule the Shawfield to Broadwood walk. The original date of the 7th August was just not feasible, for several reasons, so the proposal is now to do the walk on Saturday 18th September, before our home match with Annan Athletic.

“The other significant change is that we have taken this opportunity to do a bit of fundraising not only for Clyde FC but also for Glencryan School in Cumbernauld.

“Glencryan School caters for pupils with special educational needs. Each pupil benefits from a class size of no larger than ten pupils and each pupil also has an individual learning plan, which obviously places a different set of pressures on the dedicated staff and support service.

“The walk itself will start from the Shawfield Stadium car park, then we go through Alexandra Parade, alongside Hogganfield Loch, and on through Moodiesburn and Mollinsburn, before coming round the loch and catching our first real look at our new stadium at Broadwood!

“All-in-all, the walk is very slightly over 12 miles and we estimate we will do this as a group in about 4 hours… obviously making sure we arrive in time for kick-off for the game against Annan Athletic!”

If you are interested in doing this sponsored event in aid of both groups mentioned above, contact Gordon (syd@eclipse.co.uk), Stuart (stuartrobertson_98@yahoo.com) or the club office (01236 451511).
