Young Toffees Set For Broadwood

Tuesday night represents the first chance for Clyde fans to have a look at the new-look squad at Broadwood, as an Everton XI side visit Cumbernauld.

The Bully Wee’s public action began on Saturday with a friendly at Ross County. The match finished 3-2 to the home side, but it was an extremely useful outing against the First Division side and Stuart Millar was pleased with the way the team performed overall.

Clyde’s goals came from two new signings; Murray Henderson and Marc McCusker.

The visit of a young and very talented Everton team on Tuesday will ensure that the pre-season build up continues at a challenging level. Despite only returning home from a tour of Australia 24 hours earlier, Goodison Park boss David Moyes will be making the trip North to watch his academy/reserve players in the hope that some will push for English Premier League action during 2010-11.

The Merseyside club’s squad list for the friendly has been confirmed and it includes names that have already appeared in their first team:-

EVERTON XI: Adam Davies, James Fitzgibbon; Jordan Barrow, Jake Bidwell (pictured), Aristotle Nsiala, Daniel Murphy, Luke Garbutt, Adam Cummins; Gerard Kinsella, Adam Forshaw, Hope Akpan, James Wallace, Nathan Craig, Ross Barkley, Thomas Donegan, Zac Thompson, Luke Dobie; Conor McAleny, Hallam Hope, Anton Forrester.

It’s set to be a very interesting night for several reasons. Kick-off is at 7.30pm, with pay-at-the-gate admission at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.

Also, don’t miss out on purchasing a special edition of The Clyde View that is being produced for this unique match.
